Introduction
Since the onset of the Gaza War in October 2023, Jordan's tourism sector, celebrated for its rich cultural legacy and stunning natural landscapes, has encountered severe adversities. This situation is not unprecedented, as the region's political instability has historically led to widespread cancellations, undermining both the influx of tourists and the financial equilibrium of the sector. The turmoil has significantly diminished tourist arrivals by 7%, translating to an estimated financial shortfall of 231.4 million dinars across various domains, including air travel, cruise ship visits, and major attractions such as Petra. The cessation of 49 cruise ship arrivals accounted for a 5.2 million dinar loss, while Petra saw a 39% fall in visitations, leading to an 8.6 million dinar decrease in ticket sales.
