ESG Self-Assessment Digital Tool - Pilot
Aligned with the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) 2033, the Digital Transformation Strategy and its Executive Action Plan (2026–2028), the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE) is launching a pilot initiative to introduce the Synesgy ESG Digital Assessment Platform across selected Jordanian institutions. This initiative supports national priorities to strengthen sustainability governance, enhance institutional transparency, and accelerate Jordan’s transition toward a green, sustainable, and digitally enabled economy. Synesgy is a digital platform designed to enable a structured and standardized evaluation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance.
Its methodology is aligned with internationally recognized ESG reporting frameworks, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, allowing organizations to assess their sustainability maturity in a consistent; the primary objective of this pilot is to examine the platform’s suitability within the Jordanian context and to build institutional capacity in digital ESG assessment and reporting. Participating entities will receive a baseline ESG assessment, a one-year ESG Certificate, and an automatically generated set of ESG-recommended compliance actions highlighting priority areas for improvement.
Through an online self-assessment questionnaire, the platform evaluates the organization’s current practices and provides:
- An overall ESG score and scores for individual areas.
- A tailored action plan highlighting areas for improvement.
- Practical recommendations based on the organization’s responses and industry.
- An ESG certificate valid for 12 months.
The questionnaire covers five main areas:
- Business: Sustainability strategy, ESG risk management, research and development, digitalization, and product or service policies.
- Environmental: Energy, water, waste management, and environmental certifications.
- Social: Personnel management, labour practices, stakeholder engagement, and community relations.
- Governance: Board structure, internal controls, legal compliance, and relevant certifications.
- Industry-specific criteria: Questions tailored to the company’s sector and related ESG risks and impacts.
The questionnaire is based on internationally recognized sustainability frameworks, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The platform also applies automatic checks and analyst reviews to verify the consistency and completeness of the submitted information.
The Synesgy ESG Self-Assessment Tool enables participating organizations and businesses to receive an ESG rating, a one-year certificate and an automated action plan identifying areas for improvement.
